Embraer ERJ 145 Flight Simulator

Welcome to the world of home built Embraer simulators

Main Instrument Panel

I purchased my MIP from Flighdecksolutions - it comes delivered in kit form:

Here is he MIP mounted in the flight deck, the F/O RMU is a dummy, due to the LCD screen not reaching, but its convincing enough

Assembly

The kit is easy to assemble - the two halves of the MIP backing panel (in my case metal, although this can also be polycarbonate) are to be fitted on a support panel, made of MDF. The lenses (13 supplied) may have to be filed to fit - if so, take care, as the acyrlic sheet can break if not well supported.

The lenses fit snugly into a machined recess on the rear of the frame. I fitted 2 to each frame, and attached with a dot of modellers glue.

The frames then fit into the metal backer - again, care is required, because the slots are manufactured individually, so frames may not be interchangable - trail and error, until all fit correctly.

MIP Support Panel

The purpose is obvious, but also pay attention to supporting and locating the monitors. Most builders start with this assembly, as it is of critical size for the rest of the build. In my case, as I have the shell, I can take a simpler approach, as the shell provides fixing points and support for the panel.
